The Trans Agenda

Happy Friday! 🌈 and welcome to...
The Trans Agenda.  🤫

 ::Secret handshake 🤝🙌::

The Trans Agenda is THE WIN. Once upon a mid-2010s Christmas, I got the call from a doctor that I’d be starting hormones. This was my first transgender win, or so I thought. The second so-called win was four weeks later when I felt my boobs start to grow. I remember mourning my old self—saying goodbye to **dead name**, my old identity. “Later loser! And take this giant beard with you!” I said.

I was so sure those things were what it meant to be transgender. Changing your body, buying a new wardrobe, and kicking the nuts off of anyone who used your old name. Yes, these things were monumentally important to me, but they weren’t the only “wins” in my transgender life. There was that time as a kid, when I dressed like a girl from private school, and came out to my sister. That little drive through town wearing girl clothes under my boring-man presentation. My cat-girl character in an MMORPG where I got married to a paladin in mythril armor.

These were all wins for me. But the most important win was being born. I’m so lucky to have been born trans. If someone ever puts two red buttons in front of me, I’ll press the one that says STAY TRANS—every single time. Moving through gender and through life with the sensitivity that every trans person has, is a gift. I hope to remember that always. And I hope you will too.

The Trans Agenda is THE WIN
