The category isssssssss PHOTOS AND MEMORIES THROUGH TIME AND SPACE. I ran into a story where a man bought an old Volkswagen Beetle. While restoring it, he found a collection of photos that were, presumably, 50-60 years old.
The photos were from the point of view of a man in love. Many were pictures of his car, his partner, and his life. The look in his partner's eyes was the look of love. What am I saying. For all I know, she could have been the wife of a dangerous drug kingpin and they were fleeing for their lives. Regardless of the details, it’s incredible that there could be a beautiful sliver of time captured from that period—inside a rusted hunk of junk.
Wherever these people are now, and however their lives ended up, it’s fun to imagine all the slivers of time they left behind. All the moments of looking into each other’s eyes in love that don’t exist in 2-dimensional photos. They say that we can only see, hear, and smell a tiny percentage of reality. Maybe moments in time do exist, somewhere in space. Those moments may not exist as photos but as energy signatures left behind on the trail of time that the Earth travels through—throughout the cosmos.
If so, I’ve got a lot of cringe to answer for. And a lot of love. Today, I plan to leave metaphysical pictures of love throughout the cosmos. If there’s an old woman who needs a ride on my back—hop on! A man who accidentally got his arm stuck in a vending machine—I’ll get the crowbar. I want the Earth and space to be filled with as much love as possible. I hope you do too.
